Jan 23rd -- Mark - Presenting the Person, Work, and Teachings of Christ
Wow! Mark will be a great study to help us to WAJD. Mark gained most of his knowledge while accompanying the Apostle Paul on his missionary journey. What a study opportunity (for Mark) to hang-with Paul. Most believe that Mark is the earliest written Gospel (around 55AD). Very recent findings are supposing that the real date may be even closer to 40AD.
Key Point: Jesus "Son of Man" and "Son of God"
Jesus - The example of "Servanthood"
If we are to WAJD then we must surely have a Servants Heart, and therefore a Servants Attitude, and therefore Servant Actions.....a servant is selfless, humble, and available to serve....and in Jesus sake...to even die.
Oh boy...dieing? Dieing to self is hard. But if we don't, we are already dead (Faith without works is _______).
In Mark, Jesus is clearly a man of power and action, not just words. Jesus did miracles to convince the people who he was and to teach the disciples his true identity as God.
Blogger's please share your thoughts on Mark and what you would desire to get out of this Book of the Gospel.

Funny we should begin this gospel...the very gospel I began to review again in January 2007.
My hope this year is that in even a small measure, I can begin to emulate Christ who got up early each morning to pray alone.
I have sense that now is the time to "listen" more, so that I can follow the Shepherd as he leads. Of course, where this will lead is going to be the great adventure!!
So happy to hear from you on this blog site....I believe that now is the time to really look within and finally to decide to let God work through us, rather than us working "for" God.
This is subtle, but I believe there is tremendous power in this reality...to know our God, to know our God given gifts, and to let (allow) God (in all His power and strength) to work through(in) us. For unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.
I (and I know you) want to see God move in miraculous/marvelous ways as we bear much fruit to give glory to God. Wow! My heart is expectant in what is in store for us who believe!
Let the journey begin!!!!
Father, our hearts are Yours; our hands are Yours; our feet are Yours; our tongue is Yours (Spirit come and speak revelation to us, speak truth to us, speak the wonder of the Father's ways to us -- that we would know the fire in our hearts, that we would thirst for truth, obedience, and purpose.
That we would have faith to believe - what you say to us through your Word, your Spirit, circumstances, our Brother's and Sister's in Christ. Our hands are at the cart, we are looking forward, and we will triumphantly move in honor and humility but in Your Power....Amen
